Dairy Farm & Cheese Packing Assistant
Location: Whitechurch, Co. Cork, Ireland
Pay: €14.15 per hour

We are a family dairy farm with a herd of approximately 150 milking cows in Whitechurch, Co. Cork. Most of the milk produced on the farm is used in the on-site production of our own farmhouse cheese.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Dairy Farm & Cheese Packing Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role, with approximately two-thirds of the time spent working on the dairy farm and one-third packing cheese.
Farm duties
- Milking cows
- General animal husbandry
- Calf rearing
- Feeding and monitoring livestock
- Cleaning and maintaining farm areas and equipment
- Other general farm duties as required
Cheese packing duties
- Packing and preparing cheese for sale
- Labelling and preparing orders
- Cleaning and maintaining the packing area
- Following food hygiene and safety procedures
- Other cheesemaking-related tasks as required
High standards of cleanliness and hygiene are essential. The quality of our milk is extremely important to us as it is used to make our farmhouse cheese, and the same high standards apply to cheese packing.
The ideal candidate
- Reliable, responsible and hardworking
- Clean, tidy and hygiene-conscious
- Comfortable working with dairy cows and calves
- Practical and willing to get involved in all aspects of the role
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on farm work
- Available to work weekends
- Previous dairy farm experience is an advantage, but not essential for the right candidate
Minimum English is required, as is a valid work permit/right to work in Ireland.
