About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced National Account Manager to join a leading FMCG organisation and drive the continued growth of a portfolio of well-established household brands. This role will suit a commercially focused account manager with experience managing key retail and wholesale customer relationships and delivering profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for key household portfolio accounts, developing and maintaining strong commercial relationships.
- Manage Tier 1 customer accounts across retail and wholesale channels.
- Take ownership of sales revenue, profitability and overall account performance.
- Manage pricing structures and support the implementation of commercial agreements.
- Resolve account-related finance queries in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Oversee stock forecasting and availability across the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with customer demand and promotional activity.
- Lead promotional planning, execution and post-promotion analysis to maximise return on investment.
- Manage new product listings and maintain existing product ranges across customer accounts.
- Identify and develop opportunities for customer growth and new business development.
- Conduct annual range reviews, competitor analysis and market evaluations to support commercial strategy.
- Work closely with sales and merchandising teams to ensure effective execution of promotions and customer plans.
- Develop and implement annual Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key customers.
- Identify shopper and channel trends to support informed commercial decision-making.
- Lead customer negotiations relating to pricing, promotions and trade investment agreements.
- Influence customer decision-making to secure mutually beneficial commercial outcomes.
- Provide additional support across the business as required to achieve commercial objectives.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an FMCG sales environment.
- Proven experience managing head office buyer relationships across retail and/or wholesale channels.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales, margins, pricing and promotional activity.
- Experience in forecasting, stock management and category planning.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Highly organised, proactive and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Results-driven with a strong focus on delivering growth and profitability.
