About the Role:
As Assistant Manager, you will support the Manager in the effective leadership and operation of our Montessori school. You will help ensure that all activities and services run smoothly, professionally, and in accordance with policies developed by Childcare Services and other relevant bodies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Manager in the overall administration and management of the service.
- Leading and supporting the day-to-day delivery of high-quality early years education.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the Montessori curriculum.
- Ensuring adherence to Siolta (The National Quality Framework) and Aistear (The Early Childhood Curriculum Framework).
- Efficient use of teaching resources and materials in collaboration with the Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise the Montessori teaching staff.
- Train staff on relevant policies and ensure best practice across the team.
- Promote continuous development in line with Aistear and Siolta practice guides.
- Identify staff training needs and coordinate development plans.
- Guide staff in observations and assessments of each child.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters.
- Foster a professional and supportive work environment with a focus on high-quality childcare.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, particularly TUSLA standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Childcare in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Proficiency in computer use and administration tasks including NCS and ECCE Programmes
- Knowledge and practical experience of the Montessori philosophy.
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a management or leadership role in early years education.
- Minimum qualification Level 7/8 in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage both staff and curriculum planning.
- Creative and innovative approach to developing age-appropriate activities.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Full understanding of TUSLA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience using Early Years Hive, including NCS and ECCE Programme administration.
