PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Sommelier at Lady Helen is responsible for delivering an exceptional wine and beverage experience that complements the Michelin-starred dining journey.
This role requires strong wine knowledge, excellent guest engagement skills, and the ability to work closely with the Restaurant Manager, chefs and front-of-house team to ensure seamless and memorable service.
The Sommelier will maintain high luxury hospitality standards, support wine sales and training and contribute to the overall guest experience through professional, confident and personalised service.

Duties Include (but are not limited to)

Provide professional wine service during all dining periods.

Guide guests through the wine list and recommend pairings suited to menus and guest preferences.

Ensure wines are served correctly, including presentation, temperature, and glassware standards.

Maintain excellent product knowledge of wines, champagnes, spirits, and other beverages.

Support the development and updating of the wine list alongside management.Deliver warm, engaging, and personalised service to all guests.

Create memorable dining experiences through confident communication and attention to detail.

Respond professionally to guest requests, preferences, and feedback.

Maintain Michelin and luxury hospitality service standards at all times.

Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and culinary team to ensure smooth service flow.

Assist with beverage stock control, cellar organisation, and inventory management.

Monitor wine stock levels and report shortages or ordering requirements.

Ensure all beverage areas are clean, organised, and presented to luxury standards.

Support the training and development of the front-of-house team in wine and beverage knowledge.

Participate in daily briefings and service preparation.

Encourage teamwork and maintain positive working relationships across departments.

Lead by example through professionalism, presentation and service standards

Uphold Lady Helen's brand values and Michelin-level standards.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
