Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, containment, distribution boards, protective devices, lighting, and controls in domestic and commercial settings.
- Diagnose faults quickly and implement safe, lasting fixes to minimise downtime.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to Safe Electric standards, with clear documentation.
- Deliver high-quality handovers: certification, test results, as-builts, and O&M packs.
- Plan and execute upgrades, retrofits, and energy-efficiency improvements.
- Ensure strict compliance with H&S procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with site managers, GCs, and other trades to keep programmes on track.
- Maintain accurate records: materials, time, variations, and completed installations.
- Provide clear, courteous client communication and excellent service.
- Stay current on wiring regulations and relevant technologies.
- Mentor apprentices/junior electricians and support continuous improvement of our processes.
- Requirements
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, FETAC Level 6, or equivalent) and valid QC number.
- Strong experience across residential and commercial projects.
- Confident with lighting, power distribution, containment, and control systems.
- Proven delivery of installations, maintenance, testing, and repairs to a high standard.
- Skilled with test instrumentation and tools (e.g., multimeters, circuit testers, hand tools).
- Ability to read/interpret drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent fault-finding, attention to detail, and safety-first mindset.
- Clear verbal and written communication with clients and colleagues.
- Organised, reliable, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Team player who collaborates effectively with other trades.
- Physically fit for site work (heights, confined spaces, lifting as required).
