Motor Technician — Sleators
Location: Sleators Showroom & Workshop
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: €38,000 – €50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
About the Role
Sleators is looking for a qualified, time-served Motor Technician to join our workshop team. You'll be diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards in a busy, well-equipped main dealer environment — working alongside our Service Advisors and Parts team to keep customers on the road.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment
- Carrying out routine servicing, NCT preparation, and pre-delivery inspections
- Completing accurate job cards, warranty documentation, and paperwork to manufacturer and dealer standards
- Liaising with the Service Advisor and Parts team on job progress and parts requirements
- Keeping your work bay clean, safe, and organised
- Staying current with manufacturer training and technical bulletins
What You'll Need
- A recognised motor technician qualification (City & Guilds, QQI/SOLAS apprenticeship, or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a qualified technician, able to work unsupervised
- **Own tools** (essential)
- A full, clean driving licence
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Right to work in Ireland
Nice to have:
- **KIA experience is a distinct advantage**
- **EV/hybrid qualifications are an advantage**
- Main dealer experience with a franchise brand
- Manufacturer-specific technical certification
- NCT tester qualification
