What We Need Help With
Golden Bake has an opportunity for self-motivated Hygiene Operative to join our day shift team.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Hygiene Tasks
- Carry out daily and deep‑cleaning of production lines, equipment, walls, floors, and shared areas.
- Follow all Cleaning Instruction Cards and hygiene checklists.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to training provided.
- Ensure all hygiene activities meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (HACCP, Health & Safety).
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure areas are cleaned to the required standard before production restarts.
- Support positive release of equipment back to production following cleaning.
- Report any issues relating to hygiene, cleanliness, or equipment to the supervisor.
- Follow the “clean as you go” policy throughout the shift.
Teamwork & Operations
- Work as part of the hygiene and broader production team.
- Support supervisors and the Hygiene Team Lead with tasks as needed.
- Complete all required hygiene paperwork accurately and on time (e.g., checklists, chemical usage forms).
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Ability to follow hygiene, health & safety and food safety procedures.
- Good attention to detail and strong awareness of cleanliness and standards.
- Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
- Flexibility to work in different areas as required.
Desirable:
- Experience in hygiene, cleaning, food production or industrial environments.
- Manual Handling and Hand Hygiene certificates (often held by applicants).
- Experience using cleaning chemicals or industrial cleaning equipment.
Working Conditions
- Work may involve cold environments, wet areas, and physical activity.
- PPE must be worn at all times.
- Shift patterns depend on business needs (e.g., day, evening, or night shift).
- You may be required to work across production, packing and facility areas.
Shift
- 40 hours per week
- Flexible working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 2:30pm, with availability to work Saturdays and/or Sundays, 7:00am – 5:00pm.
