Main Objective of the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer with a strong proven background in software quality assurance and testing, to join our team in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
This role will play a key part in ensuring the quality, reliability, stability, and overall user experience of our software products and solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle, taking ownership of testing activities, identifying potential quality risks, and contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes and standards across the organisation.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and overall usability
- Create and execute both manual and automated testing activities across a range of software applications and environments, including web, mobile, and desktop platforms
- Take ownership of testing activities across multiple projects and software releases, ensuring high standards of software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, identify potential quality risks, and ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Identify, document, track, and assist in resolving software defects using JIRA or similar bug tracking and test management systems
- Perform regression, functional, integration, and user acceptance testing for software releases, enhancements, and product updates
- Participate in design, requirements, and code review processes to provide feedback on software quality, usability, and adherence to development best practices
- Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, frameworks, standards, and quality assurance methodologies across the business
- Contribute to improving software reliability, release quality, testing efficiency, and overall user experience
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, testing tools, automation techniques, and industry best practices
- Provide day-to-day support and assist with ad hoc technical and testing-related tasks as required
- Assist with company documentation including requirements, release notes, standard operating procedures, training materials, and video tutorials
Technical Skills Requirements:
- Proven commercial experience in software quality assurance and testing, preferably within a fast-paced Agile software development environment
- Recognised software testing qualification (ISTQB or equivalent) required
- Experience working with JIRA or similar bug tracking and test management systems
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, quality assurance processes, and software development best practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage testing priorities effectively and work confidently across multiple projects and software releases
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across both technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative and team-oriented environment
- A proactive and quality-focused mindset with a strong commitment to software reliability, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality solutions
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant commercial experience in a Software Test Engineer, Software QA, or similar testing-focused role
- Candidates should be based within commuting distance of Tralee, Co. Kerry
- Full clean driving licence required
