Sun Arc Solar Systems is a leading provider of domestic and commercial solar PV solutions across Ireland. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of our installation operations and support the continued expansion of the business.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the company, working closely with our Roofing Project Management Team, Electrical Project Management Team, Installation Crews, Procurement Team, and Senior Management to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The Role
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all installation operations across domestic and commercial solar projects. This role requires strong leadership, planning, communication, and organisational skills, along with proven experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will ensure that labour, materials, vehicles, equipment, health & safety requirements, and project schedules are effectively coordinated to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Operational Management
- Oversee the daily operations of all solar installation projects.
- Work closely with Roofing and Electrical Project Managers to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Coordinate installation schedules and labour resources.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and to company quality standards.
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
Team Management
- Manage installation teams and team leaders.
- Conduct regular meetings with team leaders.
- Monitor employee performance and productivity.
- Maintain and report on team KPIs.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.
Project Coordination
- Liaise daily with Roofing and Electrical Project Managers.
- Monitor project progress and completion targets.
- Ensure project documentation and completion records are maintained.
- Review installation photos and quality control reports.
- Manage snagging and remedial works.
Fleet & Stock Management
- Work closely with the Storeman and Procurement Team.
- Ensure vans are stocked and operational.
- Review weekly van inspections.
- Ensure materials are allocated and prepared for upcoming projects.
- Monitor stock levels and identify shortages.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Review safety documentation and site compliance.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the business.
Reporting
- Prepare and present weekly KPI reports.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Operations Meetings.
- Report on productivity, project performance, safety, quality, and operational issues.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Previous Operations Management experience is essential.
- Proven experience managing teams and operational workflows.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience managing KPIs and performance metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in Solar PV, Electrical, Roofing, Construction, or Renewable Energy sectors.
- Experience managing field-based installation teams.
- Knowledge of domestic and commercial construction projects.
- Experience with scheduling and workforce planning.

Pay: €65,000.00-€90,000.00 per year
