Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which vacancies for Technician Grade I (Architectural/Building/Civil) may be filled.
The work of a Technician Grade I requires that employees in the role function in a flexible manner and work effectively as part of a team to deliver required outcomes or outputs.
Their duties are varied and can involve assignment to different parts of the organisation, or different areas of work as services require. Appointees will be required to carry out their duties with an understanding of the political context of local government, and in a manner that enhances public trust and confidence and ensures impartial decision making.
Education/ experience, etc.:
Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:
- (i) have passed the N.C.E.A. / H.E.T.A.C. National Certificate Final Examination in
Civil Engineering
or
Geo-surveying
or
Construction Studies
or
Construction Studies in Building Maintenance
or
Construction Studies in Architectural Graphics
or
hold an equivalent qualification
and
(ii) have at least three year’s satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification concerned
- possess adequate training or experience relating to the control and supervision of staff
