Inside Sales & Trade Customer Support
Based in Ennis, Co. Clare, Shannonside Homevalue Hardware is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Inside Sales & Trade Customer Support person to join our team.
We are a busy builders’ providers and retail hardware business with a wide product range covering building materials, timber, plumbing supplies, bathrooms, stoves, paint, tools, gardening, homeware, light electrical, DIY, and general hardware. We supply builders, tradespeople, contractors, homeowners, and retail customers.
The Role
You will be the go-to person for many of our builders and tradespeople. You will deal with enquiries by phone, email, counter, and other channels, prepare quotations, follow up on orders, source products, and help customers get what they need to keep their projects moving.
A major part of the role will be building strong relationships with trade customers, understanding what projects they are working on, what materials they are likely to need, and how Shannonside Homevalue can support them better.
This is mainly an office-based role, with occasional site visits where required. The role will also include some purchasing responsibility, including dealing with suppliers, checking availability, sourcing products, and supporting stock requirements.
Key Duties
· Deal with builders, tradespeople, and trade customer enquiries.
· Prepare quotes and follow up on sales opportunities.
· Build strong relationships with regular trade customers.
· Understand customers’ projects, buying patterns, and expected spend.
· Source products and provide practical solutions where required.
· Work closely with suppliers on pricing, stock availability, lead times, and special orders.
· Liaise with the yard, retail, purchasing, accounts, and management teams.
· Help ensure customers receive a fast, reliable, and professional service.
· Go the extra mile to solve issues and keep customers coming back.
· Support purchasing and supplier follow-up as needed.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal person will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
· Builders’ providers
· Hardware
· Trade sales
· Construction supplies
· Purchasing or supplier coordination
· Internal sales or customer account support
You should be practical, organised, commercially aware, and comfortable dealing with builders and tradespeople. You should also be someone who follows through, responds quickly, and takes ownership of customer issues.
