We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Relief Milker to join our busy dairy farming operation in the Emyvale area of County Monaghan.
This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible part-time work, whether on a regular weekly basis or to provide holiday/weekend cover. We are looking for someone who is dependable, has previous milking experience, and is confident working independently while maintaining high standards of animal care and milking hygiene.
Working days and hours can be discussed and tailored to suit the successful applicant where possible.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out morning and/or evening milking routines
- Preparing and cleaning the milking parlour before and after milking
- Monitoring cow health and identifying any issues during milking
- Ensuring high standards of milk hygiene and animal welfare
- Moving livestock safely to and from the parlour
- Basic yard duties associated with milking
- Reporting any livestock or equipment issues
- Assisting with other light farm duties where required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous dairy milking experience preferable
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Calm and confident handling livestock
- Good attention to detail and hygiene standards
- Full driving licence essential
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings and occasional weekends as required
