We are now recruiting for an experienced Activities/Social Care Co-Ordinator to join our team in Rosenalee Care Centre. We are a 66 bed family run nursing home in Ballincollig, providing and maintaining the highest standard of care to the elderly since 1988.

You will be responsible for creating stimulating, motivating and interesting activities for our residents, while taking consideration of their differing abilities. To promote both mental and physical stimulation these activities shall include dance, songs, music, games, cooking, knitting, walks, quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts and massage and hand care.
This position requires an understanding of the needs of the older person while ensuring they remain safely within their environment at all times. You will assist with their inclusion and interaction within the home with their families, visitors and other residents, for example: receiving and sending post/emails; visiting; telephone calls; social media etc.
You will occasionally be asked to assist the nursing and/or care staff in their duties.
Requirements:
- Recognised qualification in Activities/Social Care, Health Care Studies, is required
- At least one year's experience working with the elderly within a residential care setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable skills in gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, music etc.
SONAS, Art Therapy, Music Therapy or similar qualification would be desirable, but not essential. Train the Trainer Manual Handling qualification also desirable.
