About Super Stars Cork
Super Stars Cork is a dynamic performing arts school dedicated to helping children and young people develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Drama & Musical Theatre Teacher to join our growing team.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate teacher who can deliver engaging drama and musical theatre classes to students of various ages and abilities. The successful candidate will inspire young performers, develop their acting, singing, and stage skills, and help prepare students for performances, showcases, and examinations where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality drama and musical theatre classes.
- Teach acting techniques, character development, improvisation, and stagecraft.
- Lead musical theatre sessions incorporating acting, singing, movement, and performance skills.
- Prepare students for productions, showcases, competitions, and examinations where appropriate.
- Foster confidence, creativity, teamwork, and self-expression in all students.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and the Super Stars team.
- Support rehearsals, performances, and special events throughout the year.
Essential Requirements
- Experience teaching Drama and/or Musical Theatre to children and young people.
- Strong knowledge of acting techniques and performance skills.
- Ability to choreograph basic movement and stage performance pieces.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about working with young performers.
- Ability to inspire confidence and bring out the best in every student.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or professional training in Drama, Musical Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Performance experience in theatre, musical theatre, television, or film.
- Experience directing productions or youth theatre groups.
- Garda Vetting (or willingness to obtain).
