Purpose of the Role:
The EHR Service Specialist is responsible for supporting the effective governance, development, learning, training, upgrading, and ongoing support of the Meditech Electronic Health Record (EHR) system within assigned departments and functions across the Mater Private Network Health System. This role ensures that EHR services are tailored to meet the unique needs of users, driving adoption, compliance, and proficiency. Acting as a bridge between EHR users and broader organizational strategies, the Specialist facilitates seamless operations, enhances system performance, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. This role is integral to ensuring that EHR users across the Mater Private Network Health System are empowered with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to optimize their workflows and deliver exceptional patient care. By driving governance, training, and user engagement, the EHR Service Specialist plays a critical part in the successful adoption and utilization of the Meditech EHR platform.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the deployment of EHR system upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with departmental workflows.
Build, Test and validate new features and functionalities, providing feedback to improve system usability and performance.
Identify opportunities for enhancing system configurations to better serve the operational needs of assigned departments/functions.
Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges impacting system performance.
Create and maintain user-focused training resources, including guides, tutorials, and FAQs.
Work closely with department heads to assess specific training needs and deliver customized learning solutions.
Support internal and external audits in your department including any local JCI requirement in a timely manner.
Promote the mission, vision and values of the hospital and support hospital polices & procedures - in particular the culture of safety and the code of conduct.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum Level 7 NVQ Professional Clinical qualification
Minimum 2 years of strong knowledge and experience in Medical Oncology and Haematology is essential
Good understanding of Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT) is essential
Knowledge about the OECI Accreditation is desirable
Minimum 1 years of successful experience in a in an IT / Data / Systems department in a business of sufficient scale and complexity is desired but not essential
Successful experience in delivering performance improvement initiatives
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Strong project management skills with a record of developing and strengthening systems and processes
Highly analytical with strong attention to details, combined with strategic thinking and commercial judgment
High level of proactivity and anticipation, forward looking approach, sense of urgency
Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities
Ability to be self-directed, take ownership, and see projects to completion in a timely manner
Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
High-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office -Desirable
Ability to periodically participate in meetings and events outside of core business hours
Willingness to travel to network sites as required
