We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fire and Security Engineer to join our team, dedicated to safeguarding commercial and residential properties through advanced fire detection and security systems. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading a wide range of security solutions, including CCTV, alarm systems, sensors, and fire alarm systems. Your expertise will ensure clients’ safety and security by delivering reliable, innovative system designs and field service excellence. Duties
- Install, configure, and commission fire alarm systems, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection systems (IDS), sensors, access control hardware, and low voltage cabling in various environments.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of security hardware such as cameras, sensors, alarms, and network components to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system design documents to accurately implement complex security solutions.
- Diagnose electrical issues related to security systems using hand tools and power tools; perform repairs or component replacements as needed.
- Manage remote access software for system monitoring and troubleshooting; provide remote support where applicable.
- Collaborate with clients during system sales consultations to identify needs and recommend suitable security solutions; assist with alarm system sales efforts.
- Document all installation activities, service reports, and system configurations meticulously for compliance and future reference.
Skills
- Strong understanding of computer networking principles essential for configuring networked security devices.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with hardware installation and troubleshooting physical components.
- Proven field service experience working with security systems in construction sites or commercial environments.
- Proficiency with computer hardware setup and maintenance related to security infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Familiarity with intrusion detection systems (IDS), sensors (motion detectors, glass break sensors), CCTV cameras, fire alarm systems, and surveillance equipment.
- Experience working with low voltage electrical systems; knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is advantageous.
- Competence in cabling techniques for data transmission and power supply within security installations.
- Knowledge of telecommunication protocols relevant to security system communication networks.
- Experience with locksmithing or access control hardware is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely during installations or repairs.
- Strong customer service skills as a service technician; ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
