Kelly Childcare are looking for a School aged Room Leader to join our team of dedicated childcare professionals. The ideal candidate should currently be working in childcare and have a fun, friendly and enthusiastic personality. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, welcoming work environment. The hours are from 2pm until 5.30pm Monday to Friday
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in developing, co-ordinating and directing varied activities involved in the After-School Care Programme
- Collaborate with the Manager to implement and maintain services and/or programmes
- Co-ordinate the implementation of activities suitable for this age group.
- Supervise homework activities.
- To ensure a safe, secure and healthy environment for the care, safety and welfare of the children
- Provide for the holistic needs of the children
- Promote and help maintain an organised, clean, safe, well equipped and culturally sensitive learning environment
- To communicate effectively with children, parents and staff alike.
- Meet established policies and procedures, creating an environment of best practice
Qualifications & Experience
In order to be successful in this position the applicant must have:
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Childcare qualification or equivalent is an advantage
- practical experience in a childcare setting an advantage
- First Aid and Manual Handling an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A desire to learn progressively throughout your career due to the nature of the industry
- Sincere and genuine love of children
