Assistant Accountant
Overview / Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Accountant will have an active role in month end reporting and ensuring a strong control environment through analysis and reconcilliations supported by colleagues within the finance team. The nature and focus of this role will require the ability to take initiative and to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:

Assisting in the preparation of month-end reporting within tight deadlines.

Responsibility for certain general ledger accounts to include regular review and reconciliation on a monthly basis. Monthly Fixed Asset Reporting.

Preparation of variance analysis to support the Head of Finance - Treasury & Operational Costs and FP&A team. Provide support to the AP team in resolving queries as needed.

Liaising with the wider business on a regular basis.

Ensure assigned internal controls are completed in line with agreed processes

Play an active role in the interim and year-end audits.

Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Active participation in ad-hoc projects to support the wider PHX Ireland Group business.
Key Experience / Skills / Education:
- At least 2 years relevant work experience

Part-qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)

A relevant third level business qualification or equivalent
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-
Strong financial and analytical skills
-
SAP experience would be desirable

Ability to work in cross-functional team environments, as well as independently
-
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
-
Self-motivated and looking to progress in their professional career

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
