An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Social Worker to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in North Dublin. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist mental health assessment and intervention to children, adolescents, and their families.
This role requires a motivated and experienced practitioner with strong clinical skills, a child- and family-centred approach, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic mental health setting.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Social Worker:

Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments of children and adolescents referred to CAMHS

Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people and their families

Contribute to multidisciplinary team formulation, care planning, and case reviews

Manage a defined caseload in line with service priorities and best practice guidelines

Undertake risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes as required

Liaise with external agencies including Tusla, schools, primary care services, and community supports

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with professional and legal standards

Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff and students where appropriate

Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria for the Senior Social Worker:

Qualification as a Social Worker recognised by CORU
-
Current registration with CORU (Social Workers Registration Board)

Minimum of three years post-qualification experience working with children and families

Demonstrated experience in assessment and intervention with vulnerable children and young people

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and policy

Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Criteria

Experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) or a mental health setting

Postgraduate training relevant to child, adolescent, or mental health practice
-
Experience in therapeutic modalities relevant to young people (e.g., CBT-informed approaches, systemic/family work)
