Holland Insulation has secured a place on Ireland's national Warmer Homes Scheme framework and is entering an exciting period of growth.
We are now looking for a motivated, organised and technically minded person to join our team as a Junior Retrofit Surveyor / Trainee Project Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in construction, engineering, surveying, site management or a skilled trade who wants to develop a career in the rapidly growing energy retrofit industry.
PREVIOUS WARMER HOMES SCHEME OR RETROFIT EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED.
Full training will be provided.
You will work closely with our experienced management team and gradually develop the knowledge and skills required to carry out retrofit surveys, quality inspections and project management.
THE ROLE
Initially, you will receive structured training and work alongside experienced members of the team.
Your responsibilities will develop as your knowledge and experience grow and will include:
- Assisting with pre-works technical surveys
- Learning to assess properties and identify suitable retrofit measures
- Completing post-works quality inspections
- Learning SEAI technical requirements and compliance procedures
- Preparing survey and project documentation
- Communicating with homeowners and answering queries professionally
- Working closely with installation teams and subcontractors
- Monitoring projects from initial survey through to completion
- Identifying quality issues and ensuring works are completed to the required standard
- Using digital surveying and reporting systems
- Supporting the Project Manager with day-to-day project management
- Helping develop efficient systems and processes as the company continues to grow
As your experience develops, you will take increasing responsibility for your own projects and progress towards a fully independent Retrofit Surveyor / Project Manager role.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are more interested in the right person than someone who already knows everything about retrofit.
You may currently be working as:
- Site Supervisor / Assistant Site Manager
- Carpenter
- Electrician
- Plumber
- Construction Operative
- Quantity Surveyor
- Building Surveyor
- Engineering Technician
- Architectural Technician
- Construction Graduate
- Or in another technical construction-related role
You should have good practical knowledge of construction and be comfortable working independently.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
✓ Previous experience in construction, engineering, surveying, site management or a skilled trade
✓ Good attention to detail
✓ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✓ Comfortable dealing directly with homeowners and other professionals
✓ Good computer and smartphone skills
✓ Ability to learn technical requirements and follow procedures accurately
✓ Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
✓ Full clean driving licence
✓ Willingness to travel as the role is primarily field based
DESIRABLE – BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Previous retrofit or insulation experience
- Experience working on construction sites
- Experience carrying out inspections or surveys
- Experience using digital surveying/reporting software
- BER qualification
- Knowledge of SEAI requirements
- Previous project management experience
FULL TRAINING PROVIDED
You do not need previous Warmer Homes Scheme experience.
The successful candidate will receive training in:
- Retrofit surveying
- SEAI technical requirements
- Warmer Homes Scheme procedures
- Quality control and post-works inspections
- Project management
- Digital surveying and reporting
- Holland Insulation's internal systems and procedures

WORK LOCATION
The role is field based and will involve travel throughout Ireland, primarily across Munster.
