Dixon Hempenstall Opticians are Dublin's longest-established independent opticians, based in the heart of the city on Suffolk Street, just off Grafton St.

The role
We're looking for an experienced retail sales professional to help our patients find eyewear they love. No optical background is required — if you've built your career in premium retail, fashion, jewellery or a similar high-touch environment and you know how to deliver an exceptional customer experience, we'll give you the product training you need.
Your instinct for styling, service and closing the sale is what matters most.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers and creating a warm, premium in-store experience
- Guiding customers through frame and lens choices with a strong styling eye
- Understanding what each customer wants and matching them to the right product
- Confidently presenting our premium ranges and building the sale
- Handling collections, adjustments and follow-up to keep customers coming back
- Supporting the wider team through busy periods and day-to-day admin
- Helping keep the practice beautifully presented and stock well merchandised
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in premium or high-touch retail sales (fashion, jewellery, beauty, eyewear or similar)
- A natural flair for styling and a genuine eye for what suits people
- Confident, consultative selling style — comfortable building rapport and closing
- Warm, polished and customer-first in everything you do
- Well-presented, reliable and a real team player
- Optical experience is welcome but absolutely not essential — full training given
- Saturday availability is essential
- Fluent English
