Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Working Foreman to oversee residential construction projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can efficiently manage teams, coordinate tasks, and ensure work is completed to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential renovations, structural work, groundworks, and roofing.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for managing and supervising residential construction projects from demolition through to final handover.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate site teams, including direct staff and subcontractors.
- Work hands-on as needed, ensuring skilled work is completed efficiently and correctly.
- Plan and schedule workloads, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations, planning requirements, and environmental standards.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the business owner, clients, and suppliers.
- Order and coordinate the delivery of materials to the site.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all work meets company and client expectations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Keep detailed records of all site activities, progress, and any issues encountered.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential construction and renovation.
- Proven experience as a Working Foreman, managing construction teams and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge and experience in demolition, groundworks, steelwork, roofing, structural work, and general construction.
- Ability to work on the tools while also overseeing project management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative in resolving site issues.
- Ability to read CAD drawings and technical plans with accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Full driver’s license and own transport (tools must be transported daily).
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
- Competent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with Irish building regulations and BCAR documentation.
- A dynamic and collaborative approach to teamwork and leadership.
