Clinical Nurse Manager 11 - Interventional Cardiology
Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent
Remuneration: €62,078 - €78,443 dependent on relevant experience.
The Purpose of This Role:
The Clinical Nurse Manager II will have key responsibility for leading and managing the Catheterisation Laboratory and the overall operational running of the department on a day to day basis.
The position requires a strategic approach to the management and development of services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and the management of change necessary to achieve organisational objectives.
This position will oversee and lead a team of specialised nursing staff, ensuring that the Cath Lab operates efficiently, safely, and in alignment with the hospital’s policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines. The CNMII will be responsible for fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach to patient care, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring the professional development of nursing staff within the speciality of Cardiology.

Be registered, or be eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI]

Key Responsibilities:

To provide innovative and effective leadership support and advise to nursing and Allied staff.

Manage and evaluate the implementation of the service plan.

Develop and manage departmental policy, with a particular emphasis on change
-
Manage resources efficiently and effectively to ensure the continuous quality
improvement in services.

Manage defined devolved personnel functions, with particular emphasis on maximizing recruitment and retention of nursing and nursing support staff in conjunction with the Director / Assistant Director of Nursing.

Assist in forecasting trends regarding skill mix and turnover rate and manage WTE control.

Assist in implementing annual staff development and performance review.

Manage staff sickness and absenteeism in accordance with Bon Secours Hospital

Promote good inter-professional teamwork.

Manage and promote community and inter/intra-hospital service liaison.

Assist in the co-ordination of patient activities throughout the area of responsibility

Actively strive to develop multi-disciplinary communication, co-operation, collaboration and teamwork.

Assist in monitoring the implementation of service plans.

Apply the principle of delegation in all instances to the maximum level compatible with safety.

Ensure audit systems are in place to facilitate the constant evaluation of service and clients care.

Monitor and investigate all complaints where appropriate (utilizing the support structure available where necessary), clinical incidents or near misses and report findings to the relevant personnel.

Manage professional and clinical standards, using evidence-based care planning

Provide supportive supervision and professional development of staff.

Facilitate team building and motivation.
Essential Requirements:

R.G.N Registration
-
At least 5 years post registration experience, 3 years within Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory or Cardiology

Suitable management experience and /or qualification

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, accountability and communication skills

The ability to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.

Roster will generally be over 5 days a week however a flexible approach to work patterns is required in line with service.
