Finance Controller & Accounts Manager
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Controller & Accounts Manager to join our growing business. This is a key senior role within the company, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting management decision-making, improving financial processes, and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day finance and accounts function
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Managing cash flow, budgets and financial forecasting
- Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations and payment management
- Credit control and debtor management
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with relevant Revenue requirements
- Assisting with year-end accounts and liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Developing and maintaining financial controls and procedures
- Monitoring company expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Supporting senior management with financial analysis and strategic planning
- Managing payroll processes where required
- Leading and supporting members of the accounts team
- Ensuring the effective use and management of Xero accounting software
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified by Experience
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or senior accounting role
- Strong hands-on experience using Xero accounting software is essential
- Experience managing and maintaining financial processes within Xero, including reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting and cash flow management
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
