We have a new opportunity for a General Operator to join a leading chemical manufacturer, based in Little Island, Cork. This is a permanent day’s role (7.30am to 4pm) located a 10-minute walk from the train station.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate filling, packing, and production processes for chemical liquids and powders in line with work instructions and batch records.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust production equipment, performing basic maintenance and reporting faults as required.
- Verify labels, batch codes, and product weights/volumes to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Safely handle, store, and transfer raw materials and finished products, including hazardous chemicals.
- Adhere to all PPE, health, safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Accurately complete production documentation and batch records to ensure full product traceability.
- Report quality issues, deviations, incidents, and near-misses promptly to management.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping through routine cleaning and sanitisation of equipment and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards and company quality, environmental, and food safety systems.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing, food production, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated production environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety data sheets.
- Awareness of, or willingness to be trained in, chemical handling safety, manual handling, and the correct use of PPE.
- Physically capable for the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting, etc.
- Reliable team player with good attention to detail.
- Forklift license is an advantage.
