Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing Limerick office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to lead projects, work closely with clients, and play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure design across a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial and public sector developments throughout Ireland.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take ownership of projects from concept through to construction, delivering practical engineering solutions while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for the design and coordination of site infrastructure including roads, drainage, utilities and water services, while liaising with clients, contractors, local authorities and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering projects through planning, design and construction
- Design roads, drainage (SuDS), utilities and water infrastructure
- Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation and planning submissions
- Produce detailed design drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, local authorities and statutory bodies
- Attend project and design team meetings
- Carry out site inspections and support construction delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project success
Requirements (Required)
- Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or above)
- Minimum 5 years' civil engineering experience
- At least 2 years' experience working within an Irish engineering consultancy
- Strong experience in drainage, roads and infrastructure design
- Experience delivering projects from planning through to construction
- Good knowledge of Irish design standards and approval processes
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Full driving licence
(Desirable)
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards Chartership)
- Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and InfoDrainage (or equivalent)
- Previous experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers
