Role Overview
Noreside Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join its team. The successful candidate will have 5 to 7 years’ industrial installation experience working in factories, manufacturing facilities, or regulated industrial environments such as food, beverage, medical devices, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or similar sectors.
This role will involve a mix of working at Noreside Engineering Group’s own facility and working away at customer/client sites. Due to the nature of the work, travel will be required, and overnight stays are a requirement of the role when working on projects away from the company facility.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working both in-house and on customer sites, delivering high-quality electrical installation work while representing Noreside Engineering Group professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for:
- Carrying out industrial electrical installation work both at Noreside Engineering Group’s facility and at customer/client sites.
- Installing cable containment systems such as tray, ladder, conduit, trunking, basket, and associated supports.
- Glanding, terminating, and testing power, control, and instrumentation cables.
- Installing and connecting motors, control panels, distribution boards, isolators, sensors, field devices, and associated electrical equipment.
- Assisting with panel wiring, pre-assembly, preparation, testing, or project build work at Noreside Engineering Group’s facility where required.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules, and site layout drawings.
- Supporting commissioning, testing, inspection, installation, and handover activities.
- Carrying out fault-finding and troubleshooting on industrial electrical systems.
- Working safely on live industrial and production sites while respecting customer operations, hygiene requirements, and site procedures.
- Complying with company and customer site rules, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Liaising with supervisors, project managers, engineers, customers, and other trades.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used, issues identified, and progress updates.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with relevant electrical regulations, project specifications, and company procedures.
- Travelling to customer/client sites as required and undertaking overnight stays where necessary.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have/be:
- A fully Qualified Electrician (Senior Trades/National Craft Certificate)
- Hold valid RECI / Safe Electric registration as a Qualified Certifier
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in industrial electrical installation.
- Previous experience working in factory, production, facility, or industrial environments.
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors: Food manufacturing, Beverage production, Medical devices, Pharmaceutical manufacturing, High-spec industrial facilities
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installation, containment, cabling, power distribution, controls, and field wiring.
- Ability to read and work from electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, and cable schedules.
- Experience with electrical testing, fault-finding, and commissioning support.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements on industrial sites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with
- colleagues, customers, and contractors.
- Flexibility to work both at Noreside Engineering Group’s facility and at customer/client sites.
- Willingness and availability to travel and stay overnight when required.
Desirable Experience
- The following would be an advantage:
- Experience working in cleanroom, GMP, or highly regulated environments.
- Experience with process equipment, automation systems, PLC-controlled
- equipment, or instrumentation.
- Experience on shutdowns, upgrades, factory expansions, production line installations, or live-site projects.
- Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, MEWP/IPAF, Abrasive Wheels, or similar site certifications.
- Experience preparing or completing testing and verification documentation.
- Knowledge of ATEX environments or hazardous area installations.
- Experience with panel wiring, machine wiring, skid wiring, or in-house project build work.

Working Conditions
- The role will involve a mix of work at Noreside Engineering Group’s facility and at customer/client sites.
- Travel to various customer/client locations will be required.
- Overnight stays are a requirement of the role depending on project location and duration.
- Work may take place during shutdowns, weekends, evenings, or outside normal production hours depending on customer and project requirements.
- The electrician must comply with all company procedures, customer site inductions, access rules, safety procedures, hygiene standards, and site specific requirements.
Summary
This role is suited to an experienced Industrial Electrician with a strong background in industrial electrical installation within factory, facility, and regulated manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be flexible, professional, and comfortable working both at Noreside Engineering Group’s facility and away at customer/client sites, including travelling and staying overnight when required.
Pay: €20.68-€38.00 per hour
