LYCS & Liberties Community Training Centre (CTC)
CAREER GUIDANCE ADVOCATE

Overall Aim: To provide training, educational and employment related services for young people in a friendly and informal manner.
Shared post: This post is shared on site between Liberties CTC https://libertiestc.ie/
and LYCS CTC https://www.lycs.ie/ Post holders will spend 50% of their time in each centre.
LYCS is an integrated community-based education, training and development project which is concerned with giving participants the opportunity to become involved in their own development and the development of their community. LYCS operates the following programmes: Childcare, Community Training Centre, Adult Education Programme, Global Citizen Education and a Community Employment Scheme. LYCS CTC offers the following QQI Levels 3 and 4 courses: Employability Skills, Pathways to Employment, Sports & Recreation and ICT.
The Liberties CTC (LTC) was established under the South Inner City Community Development Association in 1986. The centre has provided quality training and support to generations of people from the Liberties and surrounding areas. LTC operates the following QQI Levels 3 and 4 courses: Pre-Apprenticeship Engineering; Catering; Digital Media, Art & Design and Pre-College General Learning.
The centre has kept pace with labour market, and community needs and will continue to adapt to changes in the social and physical environment of the Liberties.
CTCs provide vocational and life skills training to early school leavers and others aged 16 – 21 who would otherwise have been excluded from active participation in both the workforce and the local community. Programmes are designed to enhance each learner’s opportunities to gain new skills and achieve the certification necessary for progression into employment, further training, or continued education. CTCs promote the benefits and joy of learning, especially for those who choose more unconventional routes to get there.
We are committed to supporting our young learners as they develop the skills needed to progress towards their goals and creating an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and respectful.
LYCS invites applications from enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals.
The Career Guidance Advocate will be part of a team and will report to the General Manager in both CTCs.
