Due to continued growth, we are looking for a General Operative – Solar Roofing to join our installation team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, wants to develop practical skills, and is interested in a career in the fast-growing renewable energy industry. Full training will be provided.
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced Cronin Solar installation team, assisting with the safe and efficient installation of rooftop solar PV systems across Cork County. You will support the team with roof preparation, materials handling, site organisation, and general installation duties while learning valuable skills in solar energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Cronin Solar installation team with rooftop solar PV installations.
- Help prepare roofs for solar panel installation.
- Carry materials, tools, and equipment safely to and from work areas.
- Assist with mounting systems and general installation work under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work site.
- Follow instructions from team leaders and supervisors.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
- Support the team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working outdoors and at heights (full safety training provided).
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude.
- Full driving licence is an advantage but not essential.
- Previous roofing, construction, labouring, or trade experience is beneficial but not required.
