We are seeking an experienced, professional, and reliable fitter to join our growing installation team.
The Role
As a Fitter / Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of premium outdoor living products at customer sites throughout Ireland.
You will work as part of a team delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service while representing the Awnings of Ireland brand to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Installation
- Install awnings, pergolas, louvered roof systems, retractable roofs, glass panels, screens, outdoor kitchens, and related products.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and installation instructions.
- Carry out accurate measurements and site assessments when required.
- Ensure installations are completed safely, professionally, and on schedule.
- Work alongside electricians and subcontractors when required.
Quality Control
- Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications.
- Complete final inspections and snag lists.
- Take photographs before, during, and after installations.
- Ensure customers are satisfied before leaving site.
Vehicle & Equipment
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Keep vans clean, organised, and fully stocked.
- Report damaged or missing tools immediately.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company safety procedures.
- Work safely at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
- Complete risk assessments when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Customer Service
- Present professionally at all times.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers.
- Represent the company positively on every project.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous fitting, construction, carpentry, glazing, roofing, steel erection, or outdoor structures experience.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience installing awnings, pergolas, glazing systems, or similar products.
- Safe Pass certification.
- Manual Handling certification.
- MEWP / IPAF certification.
- Electrical knowledge.
- Experience operating plant or lifting equipment.

Working Hours
- Standard hours: Monday to Friday.
- Start times may vary depending on installation location.
- Flexibility is required due to nationwide installations.
- Occasional overnight stays may be required.
