Vardis Security is currently recruiting an experienced Shopping Centre Security Officer for a full-time position at Galway Shopping Centre.
This role is suitable for a professional and reliable security officer with previous shopping centre, retail, or public-facing security experience. The successful candidate must have excellent English, both written and spoken, and be confident dealing with customers, tenants, and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a professional and visible security presence within the shopping centre.
Carry out regular patrols of the centre and surrounding areas.
Monitor and report suspicious behaviour, hazards, or security concerns.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in line with site procedures.
Assist customers, tenants, contractors, and centre management when required.
Complete daily reports, incident reports, and handover notes accurately.
Support health and safety procedures on site.
Deal with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, staff, and tenants.
Requirements
Valid PSA Security Licence.
Previous shopping centre, retail, or similar security experience is required.
Excellent English, both written and spoken.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as required.
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Experience
Security experience: minimum 1 year required.
Shopping centre or retail security experience: preferred.
Licence
PSA Security Licence required.
Schedule
Full-time.
40 to 48 hours per week.
Rostered shifts.
Days, evenings, and weekends may be required.
Work Location
In person, Galway Shopping Centre.
