At GE HealthCare Cork, we are looking for a QC People Team Leader Lead and develop a talented Quality Control Raw Materials team, playing a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and availability of materials that support life-changing healthcare products.
In this leadership role, you will oversee the compliant and efficient inspection, sampling, testing, and release of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and leaflets in accordance with cGMP requirements. You will foster a high-performance culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while ensuring right-first-time execution, timely material disposition, and reliable supply to support manufacturing operations and business success.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, motivate, and develop a team of QC analysts.
Set clear objectives and KPIs, conduct performance reviews, ensure resourcing and succession planning, support recruitment and training, and drive a culture of accountability, engagement, quality, and safety.
Accountable for timely sampling, testing, and release/rejection of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and leaflets.
Ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements and meet turnaround timelines to support manufacturing.
Ensure compliance with cGMP, GDP, and data integrity requirements.
Lead investigations (OOS, deviations), support audits, ensure inspection readiness, and drive closure of quality actions.
Monitor KPIs, turnaround times, and right-first-time metrics.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles and optimize laboratory systems such as LIMS.
Work closely with Supply Chain, QA, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
Support escalation processes, attend daily meetings, and communicate material status effectively.
Deputise for QC Manager, support budget planning, represent QC in meetings, and provide technical support across the site.
PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATION:
Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent
Background in science or engineering is preferred.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment is desirable.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Good communicational, Leadership and motivational skills, Flexibility and agility.
Openness to change and a proven ability to work on own initiative.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of Quality systems, Lab instrumentation and cGMP requirements
Basic experience in an HPRA /FDA regulated environment
Good interpersonal and Leadership skills.
