David F. McMahon & Co. Solicitor is searching for a Temporary Legal Intern to join our firm and while providing us with clerical, research and administrative support, the Intern will attend and participate in client assistance and experience directly key aspects of practicing law.
Traineeship opportunities are at sole discretion of the firm.
Role will report to Office Manager and provide support to Managing Partners and Solicitors in the firm.
· 12 months – October 2026 to September 2027
· Extension possible pending business needs.
· Full time role – primarily on-premise in O’Connell Street
Job Description
- Daily task will be assigned and reviewed with Office Manager
- Support solicitors with key administrative tasks for completion of client work.
- Creation of draft documentation (booklets) to assist in conveyancing and litigations, including minute taking
- Opportunity to directly participate in client assistance and attending meeting with counsel.
- Opportunity to directly liaise with counsel on a need-to-know basis
- Support Legal Secretary with front desk duties including greeting of clients, reception and occasional dictation.
- Responsible to assign and dispatch daily assignments and correspondence to 4 senior solicitors, 2 Legal Secretaries and 1 Admin Assistant to the Registrar.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
· Currently studying for FE1 (Stage 1 or 2)
· Or Studying for Degree in Law or equivalent education
· Positive attitude, curious and motivated to learn
· Self-motivated, organised
· Available from October 2026 to September 2027
Salary and Benefits
· Standard Minimum wage – 29,000 € yearly paid monthly in arrear.

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday - start time at 8am
- Probation period of 6 months will apply
- Access to remote working may be considered after probation and it will depend on demand of in person office workload.
