Overview of Role
Our client requires a Solution Architect to support solution design and architecture activities across business application initiatives. The role will involve working closely with IT project managers, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to shape solution options, produce design documentation, and guide solutions through architectural governance.
Role & Responsibilities:
Lead solution design activities with IT project and development teams, challenging stakeholders where appropriate and influencing design decisions.
Develop solution designs and supporting documentation in line with project scope, architectural strategy, and governance standards.
Conduct due diligence to identify preferred solutions while ensuring compliance with security, technology, infrastructure, service delivery, and quality standards.
Support the preparation of functional requirements and lead the preparation of non-functional requirements with product owners and project stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with architects, delivery teams, and key stakeholders to support solution design and delivery.
Work with project managers to define task estimates, support project plans, and maintain risk logs.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
4-6 years' experience as a Solution Architect.
Strong interpersonal and senior stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to produce concise, accurate solution designs aligned to architecture governance and business requirements.
Experience across business application solution layers including database, backend, integration, and UX.
Familiarity with Microsoft technologies such as .NET, C#, MS SQL Server, MS Dynamics 365, Azure Platform Services, and Power Platform.
Experience with cloud-native, cloud-hybrid, or on-premises to cloud migration solutions preferred.
Knowledge of architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as EA Sparx, Archimate, and C4 is beneficial.
High proficiency in written and verbal English.
Experience:
Demonstrable solution design and architecture experience delivering business application solutions to internal customers.
Experience working within architecture governance and formal design approval processes.
Strong background in stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration.
Experience supporting enterprise technology delivery in a structured environment.
Education & Certifications:
Diploma or Degree qualification in IT, or equivalent.
Relevant Architecture, Cloud, or Microsoft Certifications are advantageous.
Visa:
Irish/EU Citizen or Stamp 4 Visa holder.
