We are now seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our home and continue developing a culture of excellence, quality and resident wellbeing.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nursing leader who wants to make a meaningful impact while being supported by an experienced and collaborative leadership team.
As Director of Nursing and Person in Charge, you will have the autonomy to lead while benefiting from extensive support across clinical, quality and operational functions.
You will work closely with our experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Quality and Compliance Officer, who provide ongoing support across:

HIQA readiness and regulatory compliance

Policy implementation and best practice guidance

Our leadership model is designed to ensure Directors of Nursing feel supported, empowered and equipped to succeed while focusing on delivering excellent outcomes for residents and teams.
Reporting to the Regional CEO and working in partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer on clinical matters, the Director of Nursing will lead the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care while ensuring excellence in governance, service delivery and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:

Provide overall leadership and operational oversight of the nursing home

Fulfil the responsibilities of Person in Charge in accordance with the Health Act 2007 and HIQA requirements

Ensure delivery of exceptional person-centred care and resident experience

Lead service improvement, governance and strategic development initiatives

Promote a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement

Lead, support and develop multidisciplinary teams

Foster engagement, professional growth and strong team culture

Support recruitment, induction and workforce planning

Develop leadership capability across the service

Maintain readiness for HIQA inspections and regulatory requirements

Lead audits, quality reviews and improvement planning

Ensure policies and procedures are embedded into daily practice

Drive best practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives

Registered Nurse with full NMBI registration
-
Evidence of continuous professional development
-
Minimum 3 years out of the last 6 years in an aged care setting at management level within health and social care

Post-registration management qualification in health or a related field

Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and Irish healthcare regulations

Quality management and audit experience

Service development and strategic planning experience

Human resource and budget management experience

Experience leading teams through change and improvement initiatives
The role includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call arrangement and may require flexibility to support service delivery where required.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory references, Garda vetting, medical clearance and verification of qualifications and registration.
