The Treasury ALM Analyst supports the Treasury function in the delivery of asset and liability management activities, including balance sheet analysis, interest rate risk monitoring, liquidity risk analysis, funding assessment, stress testing, forecasting, and management information for ALMC, senior management and other governance forums.
The role is expected to contribute to both business-as-usual Treasury ALM processes and the future-state development of the ALM operating model, including enhanced analytics, improved automation, stronger data controls, system-enabled reporting, and more forward-looking scenario analysis to support decision-making.
The analyst will work closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Credit Risk, Technology and other stakeholders to ensure ALM analysis is accurate, repeatable, well controlled and aligned to internal policy, risk appetite, regulatory expectations and strategic balance sheet objectives.
Key accountabilities:
ALM analysis and balance sheet management: Prepare and maintain analysis supporting the management of the balance sheet, including balance sheet composition, funding profile, liquidity position, interest rate sensitivity, behavioral assumptions and earnings at risk analysis.
Liquidity and funding monitoring: Support daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of liquidity and funding metrics, including trend analysis, early warning indicators, concentration analysis, funding tenor analysis and escalation of material movements or exceptions.
Interest rate risk and earnings analysis: Prepare interest rate pricing and forecasting information for use in asset and liability management, including base rate movements, margin assumptions, deposit pricing impacts, investment yield analysis, hedge-related inputs and sensitivity analysis.
Management information and governance reporting: Prepare high-quality management presentations and analysis for Treasury governance forums, ALMC, senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring outputs are concise, accurate and decision-useful.
Systems, data and automation: Develop and maintain spreadsheets, analytical models and system-based reporting outputs, while supporting the future-state transition towards more automated, controlled and scalable reporting through Treasury systems (FIS Quantum), data visualisation and workflow tools.
Project and change activity: Support Treasury change initiatives, including system upgrades, new product or investment capability, improved ALM tooling, reporting enhancements, process documentation, user acceptance testing and post-implementation control validation.
Stakeholder engagement: Engage with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Credit Risk, Compliance, Technology and business partners to obtain inputs, validate outputs, resolve issues and ensure ALM analysis remains aligned to business activity and governance expectations.
Skills & experience required:
Master's degree preferred
Typically three or more years of related experience
Working knowledge of financial analysis techniques and general accounting procedures
Well-developed mathematical and analytical skills
Thorough knowledge in financial analysis, forecasting, and planning
Ability to identify and resolve exceptions, analyses data, investigate root causes and document conclusions in a controlled and auditable manner.
Strong technical skills related to data mining and visualization tools
Strong attention to detail, governance mindset and ability to work effectively under periodic reporting deadlines
