The Weaver's Café, part of McKernan, is hiring a full time Kitchen Lead.
McKernan is a scarf manufacturer, weaving and knitting on site in Tuamgraney, County Clare. Alongside the mill we have retail shop and Weaver's Café with a walled garden, and we welcome both locals and tourists throughout the year. The café menu is simple and made fresh to order: soup, toasted sandwiches, cakes and sausage rolls. No cooked dinners.
We're looking for someone with experience in a café or kitchen setting who can run the kitchen independently, takes pride in the food going out, and is comfortable managing the pace during busy periods without needing much direction.
The role includes:
- Preparing and plating food to order, including toasting sandwiches as they're ordered
- Baking cakes and traybakes
- General food preparation and kitchen organisation
- Keeping the kitchen clean and well stocked
- Working closely with the front of house team during service
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in a café or kitchen environment
- Confident with both baking and savoury food preparation
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Food safety knowledge, HACCP training an advantage
