About the Role
Murphy Precast is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Yard & Forklift Operative to join our precast concrete team in Enniscorthy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely moving, loading and organising precast concrete products within our yard. The role will also involve preparing customer orders, assisting with general yard duties and supporting the production and delivery teams when required.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who works well as part of a team, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of safety in a busy yard environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift within the yard.
- Load and unload precast concrete products from lorries and trailers.
- Move finished products from the production area to the correct storage location.
- Pick and prepare customer orders for collection or delivery.
- Check products and quantities against delivery dockets.
- Organise and maintain product storage areas.
- Carry out daily forklift safety checks and report any faults.
- Assist drivers, production staff and other yard operatives when required.
- Keep the yard, loading areas and work areas clean, organised and safe.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Carry out other reasonable general yard duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous forklift operating experience is essential.
- A valid forklift certificate is preferred.
- Experience in a precast concrete, construction, manufacturing, agricultural or builders’ merchant environment would be an advantage.
- Good awareness of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work safely around heavy concrete products and moving vehicles.
- Physically capable of carrying out general yard duties.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team.
- Able to follow instructions and complete work accurately.
- Good communication skills.
- A full driving licence would be an advantage.
