JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Rigid Driver
Job Summary:
The Rigid Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of palletised freight.
This role requires flexibility, a strong focus on customer service, and strict adherence to all legal and company regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliveries and Collections
- Safely and efficiently transport palletised freight to and from various locations in Cork City/County, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.
- Route Planning: Follow the most efficient routes, adapting as necessary to accommodate traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily walk around checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues to ensure it remains in good working condition.
Requirements
- Over 23 (for insurance purposes)
- C Licence required
- Up to date CPC’s
- Digital Tacograph Card
- Written and Spoken English are essential
- Comply fully with all legal, safety, and company requirements during all deliveries and collections.
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation related to deliveries and collections, ensuring records are up to date.
- Previous experience in a similar role a distinct advantage
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions with clients, always maintaining a professional and courteous manner.
- Address any delivery or collection issues promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction and reporting any unresolved matters to the office.
Other Duties
- Flexibility: Be adaptable to varying start and finish times based on delivery schedules, with the ability to accommodate last-minute changes as required by the business.
- Additional Tasks: Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management, either within or outside the department.

Experience:
- Driving Experience Rigid Driving Licence (Category C)
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of driving regulations, particularly those related to commercial vehicles and freight.
