Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The Machine Vision Engineer will play a crucial role within the Technology Operations team, focusing on integrating machine vision solutions into automation projects. This position demands proficiency in implementing and enhancing machine vision technologies within automated systems to ensure quality control and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves exploring future trends in machine vision and computer vision for manufacturing, as well as staying updated on emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate machine vision solutions into automated manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with automation engineers to optimise vision systems within production environments.
- Develop and deploy vision algorithms for defect detection and process improvement.
- Assist in PLC and robotic system integration with machine vision technologies.
- Provide technical support and training for clients on machine vision solutions.
- Developing use cases and exemplars of Machine Vision technologies
Key Skills and Competencies:

- Strong technical expertise in machine vision systems and automation.
- Proficiency in Cognex, Keyence, Halcon and similar vision platforms.
- Experience with PLC programming and robotic systems integration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronic, or Process Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Extensive experience with the integration of machine vision systems in automation.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and robotic automation tools.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and standards.
- Knowledge of lighting and lens setup for automation equipment.
- Ideally, experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or other AI tools.
Desired Skills (Advantageous):
- Experience in the deployment and optimisation of digital factories.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies.
- Experience in Python or C++
