The Connacht Hotel are recruiting for a full time Commie Chef to join their team. Reporting to the Head Chef, the Commie Chef will support the chef and kitchen team in providing excellent quality food.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:
- To cook and prepare food from the restaurant menu. While doing so prevent cross contamination and follow dish specifications while exercising portion control.
- Preparing foods which involves chopping vegetables, stocking stations, organizing ingredients and partly cooking some foods
- Abide by all the HACCP procedures in place
- To report any problems to the Supervisor/Manager on duty during your shift
- To conserve energy where possible ie gas, equipment, lights and manage waste
- To carry out all cleaning duties of service areas and equipment and procedures as directed by the Head Chef, Sous Chef and Management
- To assist with preparation for stocktaking / assist with stocktaking.
- To check deliveries when requested. Goods received must correspond with the order book and delivery note; Quality of produce; Correct temperature.

Professional requirements and Experience:
- Fluent English essential
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts/ cookery/ hospitality food service training is a plus
- Minimum 1-year previous experience in busy kitchen environment
