LOCATION: The beautiful grounds of St Kieran’s College in the vibrant city of Kilkenny.
CONTRACT TYPE: 2-year Fixed contract with 2-year extension option subject to performance.
WORKING HOURS: Full time – Mon to Friday. 37.5hr/ week standard contract

Person Specification The role of the Senior EU Project Officer will be to coordinate and manage the delivery of a number of EU and R&D projects of similar nature, ensuring development and delivery within the Agencies Strategic Objectives. The key objectives are to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and enhance the comfort and sustainability of citizens across the South East.
What you will be doing
As a Senior EU Project Officer, you will be responsible:
Reporting & Documentation
- Report key metrics to the EU Team Lead, on the relevant EU/R&D projects as assigned
- Maintain and provide monthly reports to EU Team Lead on the status of individual project work packages and tasks
- Ensure the timely submission of financial and technical reports to First Level Controller (FLC) or relevant body for EU claims, by working with the EU Project officers and EU Finance officer
- Create and maintain project-specific documentation during and on completion of a project to ensure compliance with SEEA company policies and procedures or other governing bodies
Leadership & Management
- Oversee and manage the delivery of the assigned EU/R&D Projects and relevant team members to successfully deliver on project goals and deliverables
- Coordinate project activities, including dissemination, communication, and exploitation/replication activities.
- Monitor overall project progress concerning milestones and deliverables.
- Identify unanticipated risks and assist in preparing technical, interim, and final reports.
- Manage project budgets with the support of The EU Section Lead and the EU Finance Officer
- Identify and report on resources needed for project delivery and assess the quality of delivery for the assigned projects
- Work with the EU Communications team to organize SEEA project-related events and provide support as needed.
- Identify potential future EU/R&D project ideas and work with the Team Lead to develop and input into new proposals
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise and collaborate with EU project partners, Work-Package-Lead, Project Lead Partner, national FLC, and relevant EU commission members, and all other relevant stakeholders for successful delivery of EU projects
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across all sectors relevant to SEEA’s work
- Collaborate with the SEEA Support Office, Communications and Marketing Team, and Technical Team
- Foster and maintain team spirit within the EU Team, and develop and maintain strong working relationships with all EU Project partners.
Quality and Compliance
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System requirements, including performing work according to process documents, procedures, and maintaining necessary records
- Understand and apply quality and environmental policy statements in all aspects of work
- Ensure that the needs and requirements of the company’s customers are understood and delivered
- Enhance the company’s internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates, and improvement ideas
- Continuous improvement on advancements in retrofit materials, methods, and regulations.
The Ideal Candidate
Each Candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the position have:
- A minimum of Level 8 Degree on the National Framework for Qualifications (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5-years of experience in the delivery of EU Projects and/ or national funded R&D projects
- Demonstrated ability to work with public sector stakeholders, particularly Local Authorities
- Experience with Policy research and development
- Excellent communication skills for developing outreach materials and delivering presentations.
- Excellent people skills and project team management
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Commitment to see projects through to completion within agreed deadlines
- Must be able to travel within Ireland and Europe for Partner meetings
