Overview
We are seeking an experienced GenAI/LLM Engineer to build and support an on-premises Generative AI environment on GPU infrastructure. The role will cover model deployment and optimisation, secure systems integration, and the development of AI-enabled applications.
You must have at least four years' professional AI experience, including hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Build and configure the on-premises GenAI environment on existing GPU infrastructure.
- Deploy, host and optimise models for reliable inference.
- Develop secure integrations with internal platforms and external model/API services.
- Build and enhance AI-enabled applications and services.
- Test, monitor and optimise systems for performance, reliability, scalability and security.
- Document technical solutions and provide support and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Contribute to the selection and use of GenAI tools, including orchestration, RAG, vector stores and model-evaluation frameworks.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- At least four years' professional experience in AI, including Generative AI and/or LLM development.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM solutions, preferably in on-premises environments.
- Practical experience configuring and optimising GPU-based model hosting and inference.
- Strong software engineering and API integration skills, with experience delivering AI-enabled applications end-to-end.
- Experience testing, monitoring and tuning AI systems for performance, reliability and scale.
- Knowledge of GenAI/LLM frameworks, including orchestration, RAG, vector databases and model evaluation.
- Understanding of secure and scalable enterprise AI architectures.
- Experience in a public-sector, regulated or security-conscious environment is desirable.
- Excellent English-language communication and technical documentation skills.
Education & Certifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant AI, Machine Learning, Cloud, GPU or Software Engineering certifications are desirable.
