We are currently seeking hardworking and reliable individuals to join our road surfacing team in County Cork. The roles include Asphalt Operatives such as Paver Operator, Roller Operator, Screedman, and Skid Steer Operator. The successful candidates will support asphalt and tarmac laying operations, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the laying and finishing of asphalt/tarmac on roads, car parks, footpaths, and other surfacing projects.
- Support machine operators including pavers and rollers during surfacing activities.
- Carry out raking, levelling, and compaction of asphalt as required.
- Operate hand tools and small plant equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with site preparation, setup, traffic management, and clean-up.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Perform general labouring duties as directed by site supervisors.
- Assist in maintaining machinery, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
- Work as part of a team to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to specification.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in asphalt, tarmac, or construction work is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour work.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid Safe Pass required.
- Manual Handling certification preferred.
- Full clean driving licence is an advantage.
