Senior Team Member
Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre, Murrisk, Co. Mayo
We are recruiting an enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused Senior Visitor Centre Team Member to join our team at the foot of Croagh Patrick.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, leads by example and is comfortable taking responsibility. You will work alongside our team across the visitor centre and take responsibility for coordinating day-to-day operations when the Centre Manager is off duty.
About the Role
Our visitor centre brings together local heritage, a café, retail and immersive virtual reality experiences, welcoming guests from Ireland and around the world.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a warm welcome and excellent customer service.
- Supporting the team across ticketing, retail, café and VR experiences.
- Acting as the main point of contact for staff when the Centre Manager is off duty.
- Coordinating daily tasks and staff breaks to help the centre run smoothly.
- Leading by example and supporting colleagues during busy periods.
- Carrying out keyholding, opening, closing and cashing-up duties as required.
- Handling day-to-day visitor queries and resolving issues calmly and professionally.
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and visitor safety.
- Keeping the Centre Manager informed and referring matters requiring management input.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience with responsibility in a customer-facing role, such as retail, hospitality, tourism or a visitor attraction.
- A full, valid driving licence and acess to a vehicle
- Leadership qualities and the confidence to guide and support a small team.
- A friendly, approachable manner and strong communication skills.
- Reliability, good organisation and the ability to use your initiative.
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and peak tourism periods.
Previous experience as a keyholder, senior team member or shift supervisor would be an advantage. You do not need to have held a management title, but you should be able to demonstrate that you have taken responsibility and supported colleagues.
An interest in tourism, local heritage or technology is welcome. Previous VR experience is not essential, as training will be provided.
