Delivery Assistant / Relief Driver – Full-Time or Part-Time
Mattress Mick is seeking reliable, hardworking and customer-focused people to join our team. Both full-time and part-time applicants are welcome.
The main position available is for a Delivery Assistant / Relief Driver, working as part of a two-person delivery team. Applicants for delivery work must hold a full clean driving licence and be comfortable driving a company van when required.
The role involves preparing orders, loading and unloading vans, delivering mattresses, beds and other bulky items to customers' homes, and helping ensure every delivery is completed safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities – Delivery
- Customer Deliveries: Assist with the delivery of mattresses, beds and other furniture to customers' homes.
- Loading & Order Preparation: Pick, prepare and carefully load orders onto company vans, ensuring goods are protected from damage.
- Manual Handling: Safely lift, carry and manoeuvre heavy and bulky items into customers' homes while protecting both the customer's property and the goods.
- Driving: Drive company delivery vans when required and assist the main driver with routes, parking and deliveries.
- Customer Service: Represent Mattress Mick in a friendly, helpful and professional manner at every customer's home.
- Teamwork: Work closely with the driver, warehouse and store teams to keep deliveries running efficiently.
- Vehicle & Delivery Care: Help keep vans, equipment and delivery areas organised, clean and ready for use.
Requirements for Delivery Work
- Full clean driving licence – essential
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular lifting and moving of mattresses, beds and other bulky products
- Reliable and punctual
- Friendly and confident dealing with customers
- Able to work well as part of a two-person team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Careful and respectful when working inside customers' homes
Previous experience in furniture delivery, removals, warehousing, logistics, retail, driving or other physically demanding customer-facing work would be an advantage, but the right attitude and reliability are equally important.
