Job Details:
This is a role for someone who loves to cook and be creative while delivering our basic menus daily. It would really suit a chef de partie who would like to gain experience leading a small kitchen team. You would be working alongside the team to prepare & cook dishes for existing lunch & breakfast menus while also introducing new exciting dishes cost effectively.
Job specification
- Prepare and cook breakfast to sugar and spice’ method [8.30 to 12 daily & until 2pm on Sundays & bank holidays] Operate a 10 minute cook time once the order goes to the kitchen.
- Prepare and cook lunch menu from 12pm to include a daily/weekly special.
- Complete all take away orders to food safety regulations.
- Ensure stock rotation in all areas of kitchen & deli
- Manage ordering for kitchen and deli
- Ensure product quality is maintained and that food is fresh in all areas.
- Carry out HACCP and cleaning lists daily to ensure all is maintained correctly, ensure records are kept neat and tidy, that they are signed off weekly to ensure completion, file in the designated area
- Delegate duties as necessary to other kitchen and wash up team members & ensure everyone gets their breaks.
- Promote a good working environment
- Introduce new ideas for the menus when they need updating and introduce daily lunch/breakfast specials.
- Report any fault with equipment immediately and write on fault sheet in the office
- Train incoming team members as necessary
Person Specification
- Hold relevant qualification and at least one years experience in a leading role.
- Have the ability to work independently and on their own initiative
- love food and have a natural flair for cooking.
- Have the ability to communicate with team members clearly
- Enjoy working with a variety of cultures and young people.
- Should be friendly and well-presented on site.
- the ability to follow company policies & procedures
- Up to date food safety level 3 certificate (training can be provided if expired)
