St.Nessan’s NS, Mungret, Limerick (V94FY29) is seeking a reliable and caring bus escort to supervise and assist a child enrolled in our autism class during their daily journeys to and from school from 27th August 2026.
The role involves supervising and supporting the pupil during their taxi journey to the school in the morning and home again in the afternoon.
- Morning: 8.00am – 9.00am
- Afternoon: 2.40pm – 3.40pm
- Times may vary slightly depending on traffic and route.
The escort will be collected by taxi from the school each morning, travel to the pupil’s home, and accompany them back to school in the taxi. In the afternoon, the escort will accompany the pupil home in the taxi and the taxi will then return the escort to the school.
Alternatively, the taxi can meet you at/near the child’s home (city centre) and drop you back to that point after the child has been dropped to school.
- €15.98 per hour (Dept. of Education rate)
- Holiday hours paid at rate of 8% of hours worked.Holiday pay payable at Christmas, Easter and at beginning of Summer holidays.Bank Holidays during school term will be paid.The role follows the primary school calendar (182 school days)
- Experience working with children is desirable
- Understanding of additional needs would be beneficial
- Possess an ability to work in a positive and professional manner with parents and school staff
It is a requirement to hold a valid Statutory Declaration and to complete the form of undertaking for this position.
