We are recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Bunclody, Co Wexford. This role offers hybrid working - 4 days in the office with one day of remote working
What will you be doing in this role?
As an Assistant Accountant at Tunstall ERL, you will support our Financial Controller by performing a variety of accounting tasks. You will play a key role in preparing financial statements, managing payroll processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records whilst also having an ability to communicate with colleagues in our UK head office and group function.
The Ideal candidate:
Will have experience of working in a similar role but also be a team player who is happy to take on ad hoc tasks from time to time.
Required skills and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or part qualified Accountant.
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Financial Controller – role reports directly to.
- General Manager – Manager of business unit.
- Finance colleagues – to ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

- UK Group Finance – Monthly Reporting.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
-
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and participate in audits.
- Manage daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Support the Senior Accountant with ad-hoc projects and financial analysis.
- Preparation of accounts for month end reporting inclusive of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements
- Preparation of VAT returns and other Government filings including Intrastat
- Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
- Monthly pension calculations
- Assist in financial planning & analysis (including budgets and forecasts)
- All banking maintenance including claiming Direct Debits, monitoring and reporting on cashflow fortnightly and keeping up to date records
- Ensure compliance with company policies.
