Working week for this role: Tuesday to Friday
We currently have a position for an experienced bookkeeper. We are seeking an individual that will complement our established team and contribute to maintaining our friendly and supportive work environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all bookkeeping and accounts administration functions continue to be carried out to a high standard.
Responsibilities and duties:
Office administration, bookkeeping and payroll duties, including the following:
- Assisting with front office duties including answering the phone and meeting customers
- Communicating with clients, including requesting information, paperwork and payroll details
- Day-to-day processing of transactions: sales and purchases invoices, payment runs and remittances
- Preparation of reconciliations: bank, debtors, creditors, VAT, PAYE, RCT and Payroll
- Updating of accounts packages
- Preparation of accounts schedules and summaries
- Preparation, administration and submission of payroll
- Working with and supporting senior staff.
Experience
- A detailed understanding of bookkeeping, especially the preparation and submission of VAT returns and the efficient and effective operation of Payroll
- Proficiency in using Excel, Word and Outlook is a prerequisite
- Experience in using an accounts package (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero etc.) a distinct advantage
- Experience in operating and maintaining a payroll package essential
- Practice experience is essential.
